Hide multiplayer server IP’s without any mods or tools [WIN/MAC] – Minecraft

>This is a basic, quick tutorial on how to hide your server IP for any game.

Step by Step guide:
1. Go to C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc
2. Open up the hosts file with notepad.
3. Add a line, containing the following:
Server IP (press Tab) Alias
Example: 127.0.0.1 localhost
4. Save.

How to locate the hosts file on a MAC:
The hosts file is in the /etc folder. To access this file in Finder, Go – Go To Folder, and type in /etc. A normal finder window will appear. In this window find the file called “hosts” double click this file and open it in TextEdit. At this point you should be enabled as a root user, so you can quickly edit the file.
